We are still running tours

Floods have receded and our tours are running

floodwaters receding near homeThe flooding in Queensland has caused widespread devastation.  Not all areas however were badly affected, and in fact most of the places visited by our tours – especially high areas such as Lamington National Park and Tamborine Mountain – escaped major damage.

We were flooded in for a few days here at the Araucaria property, but with plenty of stored food (and certainly plenty of fresh water!) and would like to again thank everyone who sent their good wishes and inquired about our safety.

Two days ago we drove to Brisbane and fond that our property there was fine apart from some rampant weed growth, and so was our main tour vehicle.

Many travelers have canceled their plans to visit Queensland, but the Gold Coast is largely unaffected, as are many parts of the outer southeastern suburbs and the higher parts of the inner southern suburbs. Trains are running regularly between the Gold Coast and Brisbane.

For anyone who would like a birdwatching, wildlife-viewing, bush-walking or custom tour with us, we are back in business, just not yet sure about which central Brisbane venues are accessible, but can pick up from Beenleigh Railway Station (trains from the Gold Coast arrive here) or many of the  southern suburbs.
